Last week I received the Creative SoundBlasterAxx AXX200 Bluetooth Speaker to review from @CreativeLabs. I’ve reviewed a lot of bluetooth speakers over the years (one of my favourites was actually by @CreativeLabs, the Zii Speaker), but I’d have to say that the Creative SoundBlasterAxx AXX200 is the most enjoyable and useful. The fact that you can have so much fun using the Karaoke and voice effects (my daughters loved this!), then also use it as a telephone speakerphone means that it’ll be perfect for both young and old.
Unique stylish hexagonal shape
One of the first things I noticed about the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 was its fascinating hexagonal shape. Normally, bluetooth speakers come in box, rectangle or cylinder shapes so I was impressed that @CreativeLabs chose a different shape. It definitely stands out from the rest. Interestingly though, the edges of the hexagonal form factor give the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 additional grip. It’s fairly lightweight at 0.5kgs and is portable enough to fit into your hand-carry luggage or school bag.
Wonderful rich sound for such a small device
When you want a sound that’s a bit more beefier than your smartphone or laptop can dish out, the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 is the perfect companion. The inbuilt subwoofer provides amazingly hefty bass for it’s size – it does my R&B and hip hop tunes justice! You can literally feel the bass and air thrust out from the subwoofer. Treble is also clear and is balanced out nicely. As part of my review, I took the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 with me to Jakarta and found myself thoroughly enjoying the rich crisp sound in the hotel room!

So much fun for everyone
As mentioned above, the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 comes with some fun features such as Karaoke which allows you to amplify your voice as you sing with your favourite tunes. To make this even more fun, you can change your voice to a Goblin, Alien or old person! When you just want to have fun with your voice without the music, you can amplify your voice even further via the megaphone function. This will keep you, your friends and family entertained for hours! You can also record and playback your serious or fun voice sessions onto a MicroSD card.
Handsfree telephone speaker
Whether you’re talking to your friends or have an important teleconference to attend to, the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 connects instantly to your phone or computer and provides easy clear handsfree conversations. When you put the volume to full, beware, it’s pretty loud! There are easy-to-access “Mute” and “Voice Focus” buttons on the top panel to help with phone calls.
Crazy Loud Siren
One feature, that I didn’t expect to have on a bluetooth speaker is an alarm siren! Once activated, the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 speaker emits an ear-wrenching alarm that can be used in
the situation of emergency. I think it’s a useful function to have.

How I would improve the Creative Sound BlasterAxx AXX200 Bluetooth Speaker
- Digital display of numbers calling and names of tracks being played
- Increase battery capacity. If the battery was greater than 8,000 mAh, I’d replace my portable USB battery charger that I’m using now
- Try to make it even more lightweight for travellers fussy about weight
